Summary
The Academic Coordinator will work as a part of an Academic Support team and LAPN Center Team to support the day to day implementation of various high-quality tutoring programs taking place across two community centers. This individual will be flexible and personable, able to balance multiple projects at once, and handle all issues and concerns with academic programming. The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the quality, instruction and outcomes of the tutoring programs to ensure we are providing high quality, rigorous programs to all clients.
Responsibilities
**Program Coordination & Implementation:** * Work with the the Academic Manager and Center Management in creating and following efficient systems to overall program management * Develop and lead after-school tutoring program at two LAPN Community Centers * Research programs, services and partners to add to the LAPN menu of academic programs. * Develop and lead recruitment efforts as well as parent orientation sessions * Ensure that all tutors have necessary training to provide high-quality after school intervention. * Maintain the quality and rigor of all academic programming to ensure progress toward meeting client and programmatic goals and outcomes. * Conduct regular observations and monitor programs to provide feedback and recommendations as needed * Provide regular updates and reports to Center Director on the progress and impact of academic programming **HR & Hiring:** * Lead the overall recruitment and training efforts of tutors as needed * Schedule and conduct all interviews * Work with Human Resources to ensure all new hires complete an on-boarding and other organization requirements **Data Entry & Evaluation:** * Support the intake and enrollment process, ensure proper documentation is collected and maintained * Collect and review tutor training logs and sign in sheets for completion and accuracy. * Ensure all necessary data is entered and submitted on time **Other:** * Contribute to larger Academic Support and LAPN Center Teams as necessary. This includes conference calls, e-mails, working groups, etc. * Travel to other office, work and school sites throughout Los Angeles / Hollywood / Pacoima as necessary
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS degree required, Masters preferred. * At least 2 years working in direct academic supports, tutoring and programs * Experience researching, developing and successfully implementing academic programs for youth and adults * Demonstrated experience in non-profit, social service, or educational settings * Leadership capabilities, independent worker, keen attention to detail * Excellent time management skills * Ability to follow and create systems * Passion for working with and developing young adults * Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment * Knowledge of Common Core State Standards * Strong background working with Excel, Efforts to Outcomes and E-Grants * Must have clean driving record and minimum state requirements for liability car insurance * Must have reliable transportation
