Video Producer

YourMechanic was founded in 2012 with the goal to make car repair and maintenance affordable, convenient, and transparent. We started YourMechanic because we believed that the auto repair industry was broken.

YourMechanic is looking for a video producer with creativity, smarts, and precision to join our team in Mountain View, CA. Top candidates will have a talent for producing short- and long-form videos that empower and engage an online audience. They have the abilities and experience to wholly own video production from concept to final cut, a deep well of topic ideas, and a strong sense of viewer service. They love the entrepreneurial, fast-paced culture of startups, and being part of a fun and productive team.

* Create and manage a slate of weekly videos * Write scripts and develop concepts into compelling clips and series * Coordinate and manage the participation of in-house mechanics as on-camera experts * Work with editors to develop video that complements and extends web articles * Drive and oversee creative development and production from start to finish * Make sure projects are produced on strategy and on time * Track versioning to deliver final assets

* At least 5 years experience running in-house video production, both in field and studio * Expert proficiency in FCP and Premiere CC * Proven facility with narrative storytelling while maintaining keen design and artistic sensibilities * Ability to write original scripts and also to develop and work with on-camera experts * Ability to condense and explain complex topics * Proven track record for seeing projects through the editing process to a final product on both rapid-response and long-arc production cycles * Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines * An interest in automotive topics is a plus, but not required
