Summary
The Credit & Collections Specialist is responsible for managing collection efforts on all accounts receivable based on company aging requirements, and provide regular reports to management detailing collection efforts and key issues, as well as identifying high risk accounts. This role will also be responsible for enforcing the company’s credit policy, conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts. In this role you will work cross functionally and provide timely reporting to senior management.
Responsibilities
* Call and collect on past due customer accounts, negotiate payment schedules and grant extensions * Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare report on highest risk accounts including recommendations for resolution * Monitor receivables and collections and provide updates of receivables and provide appropriate reporting procedures * Identify accounts requiring collection agency or legal action and coordinate collections with third-party contractors * Monitor credit-worthiness of new and existing customers * Assist in developing and enforcing sound, acceptable credit policies * Interact with customers to ensure proper remittance information is included with payments * Maintain bad debt and bad debt recovery records * Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field * 5+ years related experience * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have excellent negotiation and problem solving skills * Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions * Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast paced, and constantly evolving environment * Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly, while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines * Excellent written and formal presentation skills
