Corporate Engineer - Telephony

Yelp is looking for a Corporate Engineer to scale our telephony solution. As a member of our Corporate Engineering Team (CorpEng) you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and growing our existing telephony infrastructure. You will play an integral part in the design decisions for the corporate telephone network. This is a key position that supports the Sales & Revenue groups at Yelp. The ideal candidate has touched all aspects of a large corporate telephony networks and can scale along with the company.

* Implement ShoreTel solutions at the customer site or via a cloud based solution * Set up, program and pre-test all new systems for on-site installation * Execute remote support sessions directly into customer systems * Technical assistance for hardware, software and/or applications * Answer, track and resolve customer support, TAC related issues * Resolutions, root cause analysis and documentation of all customer support issues, providing timely and effective resolution to tickets based on internal and external service level agreements * Plan, execute and complete upgrades and projects * Troubleshoot and repair network cabling/connectivity issues * Configure, deploy and manage server hardware and software configurations * Maintain all technical certifications required to keep current with manufacturer’s technical requirements

* 3-5 years relevant Voice over IP experience * Scripting and automation experience (Python, Ruby, BASH PowerShell) * Familiarity with Linux, Windows and Mac OS * Familiarity with RDBMs (MYSql, MSSql, Postgres) * 2-4 years of VMWARE or XenServer virtualization administration * Networking Skills including but not limited to: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, SIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS, Ping and Tracert, H.323, and SIP media gateway * Understanding of basic network concepts such as routing and subnetting, jitter, and latency * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively * Ability to handle escalations and small projects with minimal supervision * Understanding of basic network concepts such as routing and sub netting, jitter, and latency * A sense of humor!
