Summary
The Global Partnerships team is responsible for all of Yahoo’s major partnerships across media and content, search, platforms, ad tech, telecom carriers and OEMs. Our partnerships team is seeking a MBA Intern who will be focused on using their analytical prowess to help us develop and drive our content acquisition and distribution strategy. The video content business is highly competitive and evolving quickly so our team is looking for an all-around athlete with the unique mix of skills and high-level of drive necessary to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities
* We are looking for someone who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, professional environment and has a passion for content (both traditional and digital). * You possess critical thinking skills as well as an intense attention to detail. You are also comfortable with quantitative analytics and financial modeling, and enjoy applying those tools in a variety of settings. A clear mastery of verbal and written communication is critical, as you will be required to present to all levels in the company. * You will also be responsible for analyzing overall deal performance and identifying ways to optimize and grow existing partnerships. This role requires close collaboration with several key functional areas across the Yahoo organization. * Participate in our deal making process, including evaluating content partners, reviewing agreements, and building performance projections. * Perform sophisticated market and competitive research to generate quantitative/qualitative analysis in support the evaluation of Yahoo’s strategy (e.g., competitor analysis, market sizing, opportunity screening) * Build and analyze financial models to evaluate the costs and benefits of partnerships (both financial and strategic) * Develop and present impactful strategy and analytical presentations, and socialize strategic thinking and insights throughout the company * Have a strong point of view on how and where Yahoo should compete in the future digital media landscape
Ideal Candidate
* A BS/BA degree is required * Current MBA student, available Summer 2016, 5 days per week * 2 – 5 years of prior experience of strategy and business development or equivalent experience (prior television, studio or media-focused technology experience a plus but not required) * Mastery of Excel modeling, and Powerpoint presentation development * Passionate, flexible, enthusiastic, and self-directed; ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment and adapt as needed * Superior organization, time management and follow-through skills; intense attention to detail * Willingness to have fun and engage in open debates * Passion for the digital media and entertainment space
