Packaging Engineer - Supply Chain

We provide services for truck brokerage and transportation, less-than-truckload, intermodal, highly-engineered supply chain solutions, contract logistics, last mile, expedite, global forwarding and managed transportation.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are assigned the correct packaging per applicable military standards and development of protective packaging containers for parts that have not been processed previously.

* Plan and direct activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers * Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special-handling and safety requirements, and type of materials required for container * May advise employer or customers on efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of sealing and fastening devices * Identify, develop, and validate packaging that pertains to ASTMD3951 and MiL – STD – 2073 * Work closely with packaging suppliers to identify appropriate packaging components and materials * Train key personnel on proper packaging techniques * Actively participate in multiple cross-functional teams Serve as the technical packaging expert * Ability to obtain secret security clearance

* 3+ years of broad technical experience in the packaging engineering field * Bachelors degree in associated field or equivalent experience * Proficient in the use of MSOffice suite of products * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal * Experience with Military packaging requirements preferred, but training is available * Up to 25% travel required at times
