Strategic Designer

X-Plane is the most comprehensive and powerful flight simulator available. If you can imagine it, you can design it in X-Plane.

• Work closely with consultants and other team members to co-create solutions with clients (often on location)

• Act as the “face” of the project for creative development and delivery

• Assist with some office management duties

• Visualize (a.k.a. draw) ideas and concepts before a room full of clients

• Develop and communicate meaningful, creative design solutions even when faced with project challenges and constraints

• Concept and create graphic layouts based upon data and information gathered in-person or remotely (e.g., WebEx)

• Understand, advocate and communicate design best practices for style sheets, file structure, editing and proofing, and more

• Collaborate with and direct studio designers, illustrators, animators, copywriters, etc. to create final artwork and deliverable

• Extraordinary graphic design, concept, and visual storytelling skills are required, illustration, motion, and interactive design skills are a big plus

• Demonstrated ability to draw, sketch and visualize ideas

• Superb client presence and presentation skills.

• High attention to detail

• Ability to define and prioritize tasks, direct complex projects and meet deadlines under pressure

• 5-7 years experience in a design studio or agency environment

• Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, illustration, graphic design, or visual communications is preferred

• Extensive experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop required), After Effects (and other motion software) as well as working knowledge of HTML 5 and other web design skills are a plus Up to 30% travel is expected

• Willingness and availability to travel (typically up to one week a month on location with clients)
