XO Communications is a leading nationwide provider of advanced IP communications, managed network and IT infrastructure services for business, large enterprise and wholesale customers.

Defines, designs, and implements IT system communications and solutions. Proposes and implements system enhancements (both software and hardware) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manages the load configuration of systems and makes recommendation for purchase or upgrade of systems. Coordinates system installation, patching, monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Design, analyze, maintain and implement complex IT systems and networks; work on all installation projects; develop technical policies and procedures regarding system activities.
• Schedule assigned service requests to meet project completion dates within established departmental standards.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in written form, technical information with a wide variety of individuals and groups, including senior levels of management.
• Identify and resolve hardware and software problems of high complexity.
• Assist the user in defining needs and recommending solutions and alternatives.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software components.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in clustering configuration and maintenance, SAN configuration and maintenance, and advanced performance tuning.
