Strategic Applications Engineer for Data Center

Provide pre and post sales technical support on design tools, silicon and IP to customer by working closely with Xilinx FAEs on software, system and module level design evaluations and issue resolution. Occasional travel to customer sites to work with them side by side as the Xilinx expert. Provide feedback to various product development teams to help define future product enhancements and evolution including IP cores, device architectures and software tools. Simplify and communicate even the most complex subjects, making options, tradeoffs, and impact clear. Can develop and deliver presentations in their area of expertise, and can tune for differing expectations of different audiences, and exec management vs. individual contributors. Deliver differentiated value to Data Center customer applications

* Become expert with Xilinx design tools * Debug customer designs and identify software and/or hardware issues through simulation, emulation and on-site analysis of typical FPGA/SOC design issues * Design, develop, code and test reference designs or macros for strategic customer designs * Review, optimize and debug customer code * Become the regional subject matter expert on a chosen application, software tool flow or hard IP module * Support customers to achieve timing closure * Support customer project design reviews * Develop, recommend and support customer design methodologies * Work with 3rd party ecosystem providers to support mutual customers * Engage in customer solution proposals (architectural recommendations, RFI, RFQ responses) * Work with product development teams to provide feedback and suggestions including the filing of change requests for documentation and software etc. * Develop support strategies for new product introductions * Provide technical input for marketing shows, seminars and conferences * Attend product training events and other technical training classes or courses * Author application notes, magazine articles and white papers

* 5-10 years industry experience * Demonstrated experience or knowledge in one or more Data Center application such as Networking, Storage, Memory or Parallel Computing. See http://www.xilinx.com/applications/data-center.html for more information. * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Science * Proficient knowledge of VHDL/Verilog coding, synthesis, and simulation * Proficiency in lab and system debug utilising common test equipment * Proficiency in PLD/FPGA/SOC design and understanding of architectures * Excellent communication and organizational skills, verbal and written, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and track activities * Service and results orientated with strong desire to support customers as well as an extension of a dynamic sales team * Knowledge of Xilinx specific design experience including demonstrable proficiency with Xilinx design methodology and implementation tools is a plus * Programming experience in C / C++ or OpenCL a plus.
