Summary
As a Xilinx Product Applications Engineer you will provide technical support for Xilinx FPGAs, tools and IP. You will interface directly with customers, field engineers and factory engineering groups to rapidly resolve complex technical issues enabling customers to proceed with their designs and improving Xilinx products along the way.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct technical support to customers on critical design issues * Work in a team environment in identifying customer problems and proposing appropriate solutions * Provide customers advice on alternative design techniques and the implementation of alternative solutions * Provide information and data on a variety of Xilinx products * Provide solutions for specific customer needsWorking on specific tactical projects for key design programs * Coaching customers on design techniques * Generating Application notes, Reference Designs and Answer Records * Provide input to product development teamsHandling customer escalations and tactical software patch requests * Summarizing and providing customer feedback to the factory
Ideal Candidate
* Problem Solving * Quickly recognizes customer issue and identifies where this lines up with Xilinx tools or devices * Able to reproduce complex issues, handle and solve simple system level issues * Effectively communicates timelines and priorities to customers and sales team **Technical Communication and Training** * Can communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. * Can assist with preparing and presenting specific topics in presentations with guidance. * Can assist on creating various training materials upon request and with guidance. * Can assist on specific authoring tasks in limited areas with guidance. **Education Requirements** * BS/MS in Computer or Electrical Engineering * 2-4 years of applications engineering or related design experience with FPGA or ASIC * Understanding of FPGA design flow and tools (HDL, synthesis, timing, place and route, simulation, FPGA and board-level power and signal analysis) * Outstanding oral and written communication skills * High initiative and self-starter * Ability to communicate technical information in an organized and understandable fashion * Customer oriented approach with a demonstrated concern and desire to work with and assist customers * Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and track many activities
