Principal Engineer/Data Center Architect

Roles/Responsibilities: * Highly energetic technical leader who has a strong motivation to win * Possess deep system knowledge in existing and emerging Data Center trends in the private cloud and public cloud and service providers (SDN, NFV, Data Analytics, OVS, VMOTION) * Possess the ability to deeply understanding Data Center application requirements, translating customers business & technical requirements into a solution architecture, in alignment with Xilinx’s computing, storage & networking platforms * Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales team to deliver Data Center sales penetration strategy, competitive analysis and aggressive execution plan * Work with value added eco-system partners and help to consolidate a proposal to fulfill customers RFQs * Delivering on sales revenue goals and design win plans * A strong sense of urgency; work with the sales team to advise and guide on the overall platform solution, value-proposition to solve both business and technical requirements * Deliver, manage, and coordinate Data Center technology proof of concepts, proving Xilinx’s performance benchmark and interoperability * Possess the ability to build strong relationships with solution architects and product marketing executives at Tier-1 Data Center accounts, be persuasive in your points of view around technology. * Customer Experience: You will be responsible for overall customer satisfaction in the solutions offered and will assist in managing resources needed. Design Shaping and Optimization – Critically assesses customers’ designs in light of their business objectives and how Xilinx’s solutions can best contribute to success Technical Acumen – Builds credibility for Xilinx with customers and contributes to strong partner relationships with partners through responsive technical coaching and knowledge sharing activities

* Exceptional knowledge of workloads that are compelling customers to move to converged Infrastructure such as: Big Data Analytics and Database, and how they affect design considerations. * Deep knowledge of data center high availability architectures, DC switching, security, storage and virtualization of the infrastructure assets * Thorough understanding of how the desire to drive business value through the adoption of open scalable and agile solutions like cloud. Understanding of software defined management and industry approaches. * Expertise in why customers are embracing software defined storage, all flash arrays, storage as a service, and object based storage. Deep understanding of impact of OpenStack, OpenFlow and Open CL in the Data Center Eco-system. Proficiency of connectivity options such as Ethernet, Fiber Channel, NVME, SAS etc. * Understanding how client virtualization and mobilization of the workforce is driving applications in the Data Center. * Deep technical knowledge of the Competitive DC landscape. Ability to differentiate Xilinx’s solution in Networking, and Storage and Compute cloud architectures to solve customer workload needs. * Technical understanding of interoperability of various manufacturer solutions in order to assist customers’ in their move from or adding to of existing infrastructure. * Ability to gather, understand and translate customer requirements into practical designs and platform requirements, and ultimately implement as a solution * Proficiency in explaining technologies effectively, communicating technical concepts in non-technical terms and transferring technical knowledge to Tier1 Data Center customers Education: BS or MS degree in science/engineering or equivalent with 15+ years of engineering/technology experience. Should have 10+ years working in key Data Center accounts/Enterprise customers Familiar with various CPU architecture, GPU knowledge is a big plus
