Summary
As a member of the Application Development team, this individual will be responsible for developing software for the XLS OmniX document review platform. This individual will interface with teams across the organization. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, designing, and developing software solutions, ensuring similar practices within the team, documenting software implementations, and investigating and solving problems. Our team works with a variety of technology including but not limited to: PHP, Javascript, Oracle, MySQL, Python, Rails, .NET and C to implement our Omnix web application, viewer and the backend processes and tools to support it. It’s a great opportunity to explore new technology to build functionality and solve large scaling issues.
Responsibilities
* Develop new features and bug fixes to address customer needs * Work with internal teams to define requirements, design, document, develop, and implement application features. * Participate in code reviews * Collaborate with software team members, and other cross-functional teams, in order to see projects to completion * Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the current application * Identify new processes that will lead to an improved development lifecycle * Exhibit and demonstrate a positive attitude and have the ability to give/receive constructive criticism * Perform other related duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum BA/BS Degree * 4+ years of prior experience as a web application developer * Experience in SQL, PL/SQL * Experience in one or more of PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby * Experience in Javascript/CSS * Experience with working in a Linux/Unix environment * Understanding of software development methodologies and sound coding practices * Thorough understanding of Object Oriented Programming * Excellent design, analytical, and problem solving skills * Experience with source control tools * Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, which include active listening and the ability to present complex ideas in concise written and verbal descriptions so that they are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences * The ability to work well as part of a team and interface with other departments to accomplish a task * Commitment to be available during off-hours when on the rotating on-call list * Demonstrated positive attitude * Excellent interpersonal skills
