Biometric Systems Engineer

• Provide technical subject matter expertise and participate in Program Management Office efforts that include the planning, analysis, design, development, test and implementation of an enterprise-wide biometrics program.
• Provide recommendations for a biometrics system architecture that complies with legislative and regulatory requirements, evolving technology, and customer/mission requirements to include new functions and capabilities, as well as enhance the safety, stability, reliability, maintainability and compatibility with external systems.
• Participate in system integration and transition to the field including technical planning, development, deployment, and testing of biometrics systems.
• Provide continuing coordination and technical support to the Project Management Office including matters pertaining to on-going system requirements and engineering processes and activities; software and hardware lifecycle development; hardware and equipment acquisitions; enterprise architecture; and other relevant duties as assigned.
• Monitor development and acquisition activities with the intent to verify that requisite IT security compliance is maintained throughout system development lifecycle.

• 5 plus years of experience with biometrics systems to include direct management, usage, and maintenance of multimodal biometric verification devices.
• Must be capable representing the government and leading a diverse team of technical personnel.
• Ability to identify, manage, and work to mitigate project risks.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and multiple project schedules.
• Experience supporting technical reviews of complex systems using systems engineering processes.
• Some experience with the program/project Management of biometric systems is desired.
• Current security clearance is required.
