Xator is seeking an experienced Audio/Visual (AV) Technician with 5+ years experience with authoring, maintaining, and repairing Crestron and AMX equipment. The AV Technician will work with the Project Manager and Design Engineer to establish programming scenarios, design A/V systems, prepare schematics, install, and test AV systems in Government facilities overseas. AV Technician responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
* Consult with the client, Project Manager, Design Engineer, and other support staff to design and install AV systems in Tactical Operations Centers that integrate complex security systems * Utilize controlled documentation and knowledge of government standards and application guides, International Building Codes, and National Electrical Codes to complete site surveys at international locations * Provide project status/updates to the respective Project Manager, Engineering Manager and/or client * Assist with the development of specialized designs to include site and floor plans, riser diagrams, Bill of Materials, power/signal runs, schedules and details, and device schematics * Create and execute software test plans for Crestron code in order to verify the functionality is complete and error-free * Design and study blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams and other specifications to determine design and installation procedures * Identify the strengths and weaknesses of multiple systems for the design; plan or modify designs to minimize waste of materials; design easy access for future maintenance and design with cost mitigation
Ideal Candidate
**The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:** * A minimum of 5 years of experience in custom programming for Crestron control systems * Ability to develop Crestron custom code with little or no assistance * General work experience with Crestron, Extron, Pnanasonic, and other major AV vendors * Crestron Programmer Certification * The ability to work well under pressure with strict guidelines * Proficient in MS Office * Ability to read blueprints and system wiring diagrams * Possess and maintain an excellent understanding of A/V best practices * Ability to design infrastructure layouts, A/V control schematics, rack elevations and various details as needed * Hands-on experience with electronic security systems (i.e. access control, CCTV, intrusion detection) * Basic network/telecommunications knowledge (fiber, CAT-5, RJ45 connectors) * Previous experience with fiber optic installation practices, automated access control systems, intrusion detection systems, A/V systems (Crestron, AMS, Planar), and CCTV is highly desirable * Ability to convey technical viewpoints to non-technical personnel This position requires up to 75% international travel. Candidate must be a US citizen with a minimum of a Secret security clearance. **Physical Requirements:** * In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Routine lifting of objects 50-80 pounds such as drills, conduit benders, pipe threaders, cable pullers, and other equipment related to the electrical trade. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders; scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of moderate objects, operation of power and manual tools/equipment, and operating office equipment **Work Environment:** * Typical assignments are frequently performed in both internal and external environments with a variety of weather conditions. Ability to work under extreme hot or cold weather conditions with exposure to dust or dirt is routine and may require the use of protective personal equipment (PPE).
