Finance Intern - Steel Processing Division

Worthington Steel is looking for an intern who will work closely with the Steel Finance group supporting day-to-day operations and special projects. The intern will aid with data compilation, analysis, reporting, process improvement, and creating presentations for management. In addition, this postion will provide support and analysis for the Steel quoting department. It is a paid position with an indefinite duration. The hours are flexible, and we are willing to work around class schedules. The candidate will have exposure to roles including: accounting, financial analysis, commercial pricing and cost accounting within Worthington Steel and learn key processes pertaining to the positions.

* Data gathering and analysis for monthly reporting and special projects * Support for key business units for the accountants and controllers * Monthly journal entries and month-end reporting * General ledger reviews * Monthly reporting packages (PowerPoint) * Quote pack development/review * Compilation and analysis of key financial and commercial data * Other duties as required

* Part-time schedule during school year, fulltime schedule during summer break * Strong organizational and time management skills * Must have proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel * Strong verbal, written, and technical skills * Good judgment and decision making skills * Ability to multi-task, move between tasks easily, work under tight deadlines. * Must be able to work with teams, participate in group problem solving, and be able to present results * Must be able to produce solutions with limited direction, be able to think and work individually * Interest in a potential finance or accounting position is a must.
