Controller, Principal Investments

**Description** World Class Capital Group is seeking a Controller to oversee the financial reporting, daily cash flow operations, regular financial reporting and treasury management functions for the firm’s principal investments group. The Controller is primarily responsible for managing and forecasting anticipated cash flows to ensure the principal real estate investments and related credit facilities retain proper levels of liquidity, meet debt service obligations, remain in compliance with debt covenants, and fund new investments. The Controller will be responsible for management and administration of the firm’s corporate credit facilities. In addition, the Controller will be responsible for the preparation of regular reporting required by the principal investments and related credit facilities, and will retain and file all transaction documentation and oversee all accounting books and records. **Responsibilities** * Oversee the creation of periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) GAAP financial statements for certain credit facilities related to the firm’s principal investments * Coordinate with external auditors to implement conversion to IFRS-standard financials, and assist with quarterly and annual regulatory reporting * Maintain daily cash flow operations and oversee treasury management functions, including performing cash projection scenarios to better manage cash balances and to optimize the use of excess cash balances * Ongoing monitoring of financial performance (real estate cash flows, valuations, financial ratios) to ensure there is sufficient cash flow to meet debt service obligations and compliance with all applicable debt covenants * Prepare distributions to fund new investments, payables, and disbursement transactions in conjunction with acquisitions and accounting teams * Coordinate, review and participate in the reconciliation of GL accounts and bank accounts for the credit facilities * Assist in the preparation of financial statements by providing supporting documentation and analysis to accounting and audit teams (internal and external) * Work alongside Portfolio Management team to prepare cash flow forecasts for both existing as well as new investments * Provide regular financial updates and board packages to the Board of Directors * Collaborate with business colleagues to evaluate the accounting treatment and impact of proposed new transactions * Prepare responses to ad-hoc information requests from investment professionals and senior management * Participate in future financings/refinancings by coordinating with multiple parties, and providing necessary financial support and reporting on an as-needed basis * Maintain files and records of all transactions in accordance with company and regulatory policies

* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Economics or Finance from a 4 year college or university, or equivalent work experience, with a strong record of academic achievement * CPA designation required * Prior experience at Big 4 accounting firm, financial institution or fund administrator is ideal * Demonstrated proficiency with financial statement analysis, accounting and valuation methodologies * Minimum 5 years of experience in treasury management, fund administration, corporate audit, or finance/accounting * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Familiarity with real estate accounting software (preferably Yardi) * Experience with ongoing regulatory/bank reporting for credit lines, bank loans, bond, or other credit facilities a plus * Excellent organizational skills with ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment * Entrepreneurial mindset – must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, growth environment
