Summary
Workday is looking for a Dev Manager to lead our Insight Applications Development Team. You will have responsibility for leading the team responsible for coding tools and applications that will live in our 9 global production customer data centers and serve our customers worldwide. You will collaborate with teams in Operations, Development, Marketing, Partners, Sales and Training to design and operationalize new products/technologies before deployment and into production environments.
Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and mentor the team. * Develop and support solutions. * Recommend investments based on assessments of current and future needs. * Create and drive solutions. * Gather feedback on solutions in production to ensure requirements have been met, adjusting designs if required. * In some cases, perform Engineering and pilot implementation of new technologies introduced through new architectural solutions. * Develop and evangelizes best practices in development to share and help other teams within Workday.
Ideal Candidate
* Solid development experience with C/C++ or Ruby or Scala * 5+ years coding experience in developing applications, systems automation, or general scripting * 3-5 years managing a development team * A solid grasp of Linux and networking fundamentals, preferably including previous hands-on experience * Deep experience with the principles of Agile and the ability to apply them given real world constraints * Strong interpersonal and technical skill to lead the day-to-day activities of the team and build relationships with the extended organization * Experience with Continuous Integration processes * Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS or equivalent preferred
