Summary
We are currently searching for an experienced technician to perform tasks related to the maintenance and operation of natural gas compressor stations and associated pipelines in the Georgia East/South Carolina District. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigned projects and duties including but not limited to: mechanical and electrical maintenance, regulatory compliance and related documentation, general core pipeline and right-of-way maintenance tasks; and other functions as required.
Responsibilities
* Operate, maintain and repair motors, compressors, pumps, valves, generators, engines and air compressors. * Operate, maintain and repair high voltage equipment including transformers, switchgear and breakers. * Manage third party encroachment activities to prevent damage to Williams Pipelines. * Provide direction to contractors on Williams’ damage prevention procedures, compliance, and right-of way maintenance requirements. * Troubleshoot and solve mechanical and electrical system problems. * Support project development and execution while working with cross-functional teams in E&C (Engineering & Construction), technical services, management, and compliance groups. * Work individually or in a team environment and be self-motivated to independently complete skill requirements and training. * Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, moderate to high-complexity assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment. * Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person's commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants. The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards. * Follow and support Williams Core Values and Beliefs, Environmental, Health and Safety and Compliance policies and practices. * Complete and comply with all OSHA, Environmental, Emergency Response, OQ skills and company assigned training.
Ideal Candidate
**Required** * A H.S. Diploma or equivalent. * Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance/troubleshooting * Possess good working knowledge of PHMSA (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration) regulations and state one-call policies. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possess adequate PC skills. * Participate in Williams’ Operations Technician Progression Program. * Possess a valid state driving license and an excellent driving record. * Ability to climb stairs, ladders, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat and be able to carry and lift items that can weigh 50lbs. * Willing to occasionally work in extremely hot and cold temperatures. * Willing to work overtime as needed and routine on-call rotations. **Preferred** * Associate degree in a technical specialty. * Prior experience with gas compression and pipeline equipment, operations, and damage prevention. * Prior experience with high voltage equipment.
