Summary
Our Organization is seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician II to be part of our Transco Pipeline. As an Operations Technician at Williams, the successful candidate will be responsible for the handling of natural gas as related to turbine engines, electric motors and compression along with the maintenance and troubleshooting of all related subsystems, including start/stop, safety shutdown and combustion controls.
Responsibilities
* Provide expertise in operating and maintaining all the equipment in the Wadley, AL and surrounding area. This equipment includes meter stations, pipeline facilities, and corrosion control and right-of-way maintenance. * Perform preventive pipeline maintenance and work described under the Job progression system for the pipeline technician job family. * Handle facility encroachment activities including pipe location, excavation and inspection resulting from one-call notifications and/or direct calls * Interface with technical support, shared services, government agencies, local emergency planning committees, emergency responders, on-call agencies, landowners, and contractors * After hour work as needed and routine on-call rotations are mandatory with some out of area travel requirements. * Safety is the utmost priority and a demonstrated minimum requirement for all applicants * Be willing to present education activities, which include formal presentations
Ideal Candidate
**Required** * Possess a high school diploma or equivalent two-year technical school degree in mechanical, air craft mechanics, electronic instrumentation * Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills * Have a valid State Operators Driving License and excellent driving record * Be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, and weekend shifts * Be willing to travel up to 25% * Possess adequate written and verbal communication skills * Participate in the Operations Development Plan (ODP) * Be willing to work in extremely hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and enclosed spaces * Ability to carry and lift items that can weigh 45lbs or more * Be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods of time * Be able to work in environmental extremes while operating hand and power tools, climbing ladders, and two-way radios * Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve * Team Orientated, and the ability to work well with others * Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills **Preferred** * Possess an Associates’ degree in electric instrumentation, diesel/diesel-electric and/or aircraft mechanics. * Previously obtained a minimum of six (6) months experience with the oil and gas field, or related industry
