Summary
The Senior Technician will work independently or with other teams to provide technical direction in problem solving while developing and applying a strong understanding washer and dryer performance behavior when conducting Laboratory Request procedures.In this position, you will need to gather knowledge through performing testing, analyzing the testing results, and use critical thought to interpret those results for performance evaluations. This candidate will need the technical foresight to plan and perform tests with minimum guidance. In addition, to develop and document any new analysis methods. The Technician is also responsible for maintaining a strong communication link to various product teams, supervisor and related departments.
Responsibilities
* Conduct Wash Performance Testing and Evaluations with accuracy and precision * Use clear and concise communication skills to explain test results in both verbal and in written format * Provide technical direction in problem solving, act as an advisor to technical personnel * Cross train, instruct and assist other personnel as needed * Develop and document new test procedures, help to write test procedures and reference guidelines * Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities with 5S * Continuous Improvement mindset
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Requirements** * Prefer 4-year Technology/Science degree with 3 years’ experience * Associates degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience **Preferred Requirements** * Proficient with business applications such as: Google, Microsoft Word and Excel * Proficient with Jmp Statistical software would be preferred. * Broad knowledge of product performance standards, procedures and processes, and the ability to adapt this knowledge to unusual situations * Ability to work on multiple test procedures concurrently * Proven good judgment and the respect of peers and client groups * Demonstrated strong planning and organization skills * Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact with peers and other groups for Goal Sharing * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong Math Skills including a basic understanding of statistics * Ability to use advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation, maintain in good working order and assure calibration * Write and complete final test reports, including conclusions and recommendations * Maintain impeccably accurate records * Ability to move appliances with an appliance cart * Ability to move test loads * Ability to use a sewing machine is preferred. * Ability to use equipment with precision to gather data (Scales, stopwatches, etc).
