Summary
Lead continuous improvement activities in support of day-to-day assembly operations and provide lean thought leadership that aligns with long range strategies of the Whirlpool -Greenville Division. Communicate, coordinate and align activities within the Assembly Operations. Provide leadership and support to ensure assembly lines achieve business metrics. Continuously identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate the implementation of lean strategy within the Assembly Operations at the Greenville Division. * Lead capital projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost. * Troubleshoot and improve assembly processes * Facilitate projects and teach / mentor / train shop floor teams in lean strategies and concepts. * Provide day to day support to the assembly leadership group including line balances, time study, problem solving, cost estimates, standard costs, labor and process flow / layouts.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Requirements** * Minimum BA / BS in Operations, or Engineering * Three (3) to ten (10) years of manufacturing experience. * Well-developed communications, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal and team building skills. * Computer skills **Preferred requirements** * Requires comprehensive knowledge of the use of advanced manufacturing techniques in a Lean Manufacturing environment. * Extensive mechanical knowledge, as well as design ability. * Electrical systems and PLC knowledge * Exposure to robotic programming and automation * Must possess good judgment, planning and analytical skills with the ability to introduce new and different concepts into an existing organization. * Must be able to relate with all levels of the organization..
