The Physician Assistant provides general medical care and treatment to patients in our fast paced busy Orthopedic Department at WESTMED. This is done in collaboration with a licensed physician qualified in the specialty involved and in accordance with an approved written practice agreement and protocols.
Responsibilities
Services provided by the PA will include health maintenance, management of acute/episodic illnesses and management of stable chronic illnesses. The PA also handles the following: * Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines. * Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and access patient's clinical problems and health care needs. * Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. * Discusses case with physician and other health professional as needed, to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan. * Assists in surgery if interested
Ideal Candidate
* Current PA License * Orthopedic/Pain Management experience preferred, but will consider new graduates * Must be able to work up to 45 hours per week - depending on staffing needs * Bilingual Spanish is preferred * Smart, motivated, and caring personality * The ability to work and think independently, attention to detail. * Exhibit characteristics of positive behavior and customer service
