Summary
The Corporate Space Designer is responsible for completing corporate space planning, furniture specification and purchasing. Coordinates department relocations and personnel moves for home office campus and service offices across the country. This includes the completion of office layouts, vendor coordination, and employee communication. Maintains and updates the corporate layouts on Computer Assisted Design Software.
Responsibilities
* Designs and manages corporate space reconfigurations and Service Office moves, expansions, closings, mergers and openings in respect to coordinating multiple vendors and furniture orders, while supervising tenant improvement construction, schedules, and communications. * Coordinates department relocations and personnel moves for home office campus and service offices across the country. This includes the completion of office layouts, vendor coordination, and employee communication. * Creates, maintains and updates corporate space, furniture and cubicle layouts on CAD software. * Assists in developing and maintaining corporate furniture and space standards along with work environment protocols. * Responsible for compliance with all building codes, NFPA and OSHA standards. * Coordinates the disposal of used furniture and equipment with facilities staff. * Responsible for all aspects of the work space environment set up from furniture and desks to work space accessories (e.g. lamps, ergonomic accessories, art work, white boards). * Works and communicates effectively with vendors as needed to complete work space environment set up and moves. * Enters work orders for large and small employee requests (e.g., chairs, art work, painting, carpet issues). * Maintains inventory to ensure necessary parts and furniture are available when needed. * Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.
Ideal Candidate
* Four-year degree in Interior Design, Facilities Management or related field orcommensurate experience in corporate design. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Computer Assisted Design Software. * Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize, be resourceful, and ensure that deadlines are met. * Demonstrated strong oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, resulting in the ability to interact internally and externally (e.g. vendors). * Ability to perform inventory management including the ability to learn parts and their uses. * Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. **Physical Requirements:** * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time). * Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail etc. * Ability to travel as required.
