Responsibilities
* Responsible for creating compelling content with existing communication platforms and forums to contribute and produce effective and timely deliverables that meet business objectives. * Responsible for oversight, development, writing and editing content related to agent, customer, and/or employee communications across a variety of mediums including newsletters, email campaigns, advertising, and digital. Digital content includes: web advertising, internet and extranet postings, and other outlets to support marketing and advertising initiatives and drive awareness of key initiatives to targeted audiences. Ensures content is on time and of high quality. * Ensures that all communications are consistent with our brand values and voice, and the company’s strategic messages while meeting quality standards and all approval requirements. Works closely with key members of the Marketing and Communications team to develop concept, analyze the effectiveness of communication plans and ensure that messages are consistent. * Supports varied communications, promotions, and product marketing projects which include writing, editing, and if requested, proof reading other department member’s work. May assist on production coordination and management of collateral materials (traditional and digital). * Partners with Marketing and Communications Leaders to refine, apply, and enforce Westfield Editorial Brand Standards. * Coordinates with marketing and communications team members and stakeholders to ensure synchronization of messaging, timing, and delivery of communications. * Develops templates for repeated editorial deliverables, such as: standard types of articles, presentations, and collateral. * Writes in an authoritative, educational, and engaging tone and style. * Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a professional writer with emphasis on the following inboth print and digital environments: * Content writing * Promotional copywriting * Corporate communications * Technical Writing * Demonstrated experience in writing clear, persuasive messages for an insurance/ financial services company or an organization in a comparable specialized, highly regulated industry. * Demonstrated solid understanding and use of AP writing style. Working experience or formal training in journalistic style and standards. * Demonstrated disciplined, precise approach to editing and proofreading copy of self and others to assure accuracy, consistency and appropriateness of style. * Demonstrated excellent writing skills including the ability to write effectively using various styles to address different needs and audiences. Experience breaking down complex work and converting it to clear and accurate concepts and ideas. * Keen listening skills to understand and revise concepts and ideas from customers, agents, and/or employee feedback. * Passionate about accuracy and clarity in all writing and editing, including a commitment to correct grammar and usage. * Demonstrated experience in writing for the web, including full articles, use of side bars, link text and other on-screen techniques. * Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field OR commensurate work experience. * Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, resulting in the ability to interact both internally and externally to communicate and pitch ideas clearly. * Strong project management skills. * Proven ability to adjust to changing priorities and short deadline schedules. * Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. **Physical Requirements(specific to the role)** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time). * Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc. * Ability to travel as required. * Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
