Summary
The Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for internal/external reporting and analytics for investment department. Maintains and improves process and workflow initiatives for reporting, risk management and portfolio management. Supports efforts in the annual planning process (e.g. net investment income planning, variance analysis, rating agency reviews). Serve as interdepartmental liaison for cross functional projects.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for utilizing business intelligence reporting tools to produce and improve internal and external reporting and analytics for the investment accounts. Leads the Investment department and stakeholders for investment risk analysis and reporting; performance measurement and metric calculations/reporting; and preparation of vital monthly, quarterly, and annual investment portfolio presentations to governing committees, corporate leadership, external stakeholders, and rating agencies. * Works with Investment Accounting and the Senior Investment Operations Specialist to ensure timely and accurate data and reporting of statistical measurements to governing committees and corporate leadership. Identifies areas for straight-through processing, application integration, and automated controls to replace manual processes and controls. Conducts analysis for improvements and presents to the Group Investment Leader. * Supports efforts in the annual planning process, net investment income planning and variance analysis, rating agency reviews, peer analysis, and development of ad-hoc management level reporting. Interacts and coordinates with other departments to address business issues and to meet organizational objectives. * Monitors and enhances reporting infrastructure by working with portfolio managers to identify key metrics and information that should be used in internal and external reports. Facilitates investment research by working with portfolio managers to provide data, identify and maintain investment research sources, and improve access to key information. * Maintains business and technical requirements for each functional or reporting need. Coordinates with Enterprise Technology to ensure that Westfield corporate technology standards are complied with for any new and existing software application. * Works with Investment Accounting to ensure that necessary data is available from portfolio accounting as necessary to support reporting needs. Identifies additional data requirements that are required to supplement data retrieved from PAM in support of enhanced reporting. * Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.
Ideal Candidate
* 2 or more years of demonstrated experience as a Financial Analyst, Investment Analyst, or Business Analyst in the financial industry. * Proven ability to analyze and interpret financial data. * Demonstrated experience utilizing business intelligence reporting tools. * Ability to produce accurate and timely financial reports. * Must be able to work independently, be a self-starter and have strong multitasking capabilities. * Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including knowledge and experiencing using Excel. * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field or commensurate experience. * Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. **Physical Requirements(specific to the role)** * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time). * Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc. * Ability to travel as required.
