Summary

Working as a team member of the Investment Management Group, the Financial Analyst will be part of a group responsible for implementing and monitoring asset performance, valuations, and portfolio management strategies, raising institutional private equity real estate funds, structuring joint ventures, and overseeing investor reporting/communications.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Perform financial analyses for multifamily investments (acquisition and development) at the asset-level and consolidated portfolio/fund-level, through the creation and/or use of complex, Excel-based proforma, investment performance reforecast and valuation models.
    • Perform sensitivity analyses, loan alternatives, partnership splits, capital budgeting and projections for investment returns.
    • Make monthly property level contribution/distribution recommendations (cash management).
  • Investment Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Collect and organize various types of financial and operating data, reports and budgets from internal divisions (accounting, property management, construction, acquisition, development, etc.) and third-parties for assets included in the funds.
    • Monitor asset performance against initial proforma, business plan and annual budget.
    • Prepare investor reports for WNP’s private real estate equity funds and joint venture partners.
    • Take a key role in drafting of internal and external memoranda and other presentation materials regarding the company and its investment activities.
  • Capital Raise:
    • Assist with the Company’s capital raise activities by preparing fund marketing and due diligence materials for potential investors, as well as tracking investor information requests.
  • Research:
    • Conduct periodic research regarding capital markets trends, as well as micro- and macro-economic, demographic, and real estate trends for specific markets, in which the Company has active investments.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree required (real estate, accounting or business majors preferred).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of real estate experience (internships count towards required experience). Experience in multifamily asset management/investment analysis preferred.
  • Major proficiency in Excel with ability to build models, improve existing models, strong use of functions (sum if; if/and; vlook ups, etc.)
  • Clear understanding of fundamental real estate economics, finance principles, and financial statements.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills as well as the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Attention to detail and extremely organized.
  • Ability to create and manipulate complex financial models and graphs from Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral and interpersonal.
  • Able to work independently, be self-motivated, and a team player. Strong personal initiative and desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
