Research and Development Technician

Research and Development Technician position will be responsible for all tests as needed for product development and sales samples. Assist in the development and data collection of new products. Support plant level new product startups at all levels, fabrication and slicing.

* rind, slice, and formulate new formulas. * Stuff and cook slicing logs. * Slice logs to slicing specs. * Inject, tumble, and formulate IQF items. * Pulling meat, supplies and ingredients from WL for pilot plant operations. * Packing coolers for sales samples and R&D testing. * Bag and tag meats in the pilot plant. * Organize samples and supplies in the pilot plant. * Clean all equipment that is used throughout the day. * Cutting spices/ingredients for daily formulas. * Complete all daily production, QA, government, swabs and UPS shipper paperwork. * Support all facilities for new production startup. * Complete all required documentation associated with pilot plant operations. * Supply meat supplies to the pilot plant for product development. * Clean up to USDA inspection standards. * Other duties as assigned.

**Preferred knowledge and Skills:** * Ability to read, write and speak English. * Basic computer skills including MS Office. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. * Must be open and able to work extended hours and weekends if needed. * Must welcome change and have a continuous improvement state of mind. * Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other team members. **Education and Experience Requirements:** * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. * Previous experience working in research and development preferred.
