Senior Network Engineer

As the Network Engineer will perform functions such as designing and enhancing the network, evaluating and developing implementation plans, and helping with implementation of various systems on the network. Coordinates installation of computer operating system software and tests, maintains, and modifies software by performing the following duties.

* Test and evaluate products (hardware and software) to determine if they meet requirements for performance and functionality. * Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects. * Document steps listed above and provide support documentation, instruct System Administrators in proper support procedures and provide 2nd level support. * Sets up and maintains basic network operations, including assembly of network hardware, and provides assistance to the network administrator. * Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems. * Upgrades network hardware and software components as required. * Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services. * Provides users with network technical support. * Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources * Engineers will work with vendors and other staff to troubleshoot issues with applications or hardware. * Ability to solve complex problems with many variables. * Responsible for providing mentoring and coaching to Operations staff. * Responsible for daily network operations, perform on-call duties as required, and other duties and tasks required.

* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is mandatory. * Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years industry experience in a similar environment. * Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols. * In-depth knowledge of and experience with internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF -In-depth knowledge of and experience with router platforms; specifically with Cisco Nexus 5K and 7K, ASR 100X,49xx, 65xx, platforms including all compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms. * In-depth knowledge of and experience with firewall platforms; specially with Fortinet, Juniper and Cisco ASA. * In-depth knowledge of and experience with Load Balancer platforms; specially with F5 and Brocade-Foundry -knowledge of the Cisco Unified Computing platform; specially the UCS chassis server, UCS 61XX manager, Nexus 1000V, and VM-ware is a plus -Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills. * Configuring Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and load balancers and -Troubleshooting traffic engineering using BGP and large scale network design. * Candidates should also have had significant past experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP/VRRP, LACP, TACACS, IPSEC, GRE & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP. * Experience designing network and data-center installations utilizing L2 and L3 protocols is highly desired. * Strong Unix skills and the ability to script in Perl, shell, C or C++ is a plus. * Network certifications such as CCNP/CCIE/JNCIS/JNCIE (or equivalent training/experience) are preferred but not required.
