Lead Engineer

Weather.Build is a fast growing startup co-founded by a successful entrepreneur partnered with leadership at Applied Invention (spun-off from Applied Minds), a top technology R&D firm. The entrepreneur has a decade of experience building an enterprise data management company from 2 to 50+ people, with a successful exit to a large, publicly traded company.

• Help develop and implement a product and technology roadmap
• Help recruit and lead a growing team of engineers and designers, and manage outsourced groups
• Make resource and architecture decisions to deliver on the company’s core vision
• Shape a rapid and responsive culture and process with agile and scrum development methodology
• Present to key customers and strategic partners

• Minimum of BS in computer engineering, software engineering or related engineering discipline
• 8+ years experience guiding small groups
• Full-stack experience developing and implementing ground-up, commercial products as a hands-on coder
• Background in decision support solutions engineering using diverse technologies
• Background in predictive analytics and recommendation systems engineering using data-focused technologies
• Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML5, etc.
• Experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx), SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with modern mobile and messaging technologies, iOS and Android
• Ability to quickly learn and develop expertise in complex existing applications and architectures
• Experience with architecture – engineering – construction (AEC) industry software nice to have
