Summary
This position operates and maintains the refrigeration system in order to ensure the continuous operation of the refrigeration equipment and to prevent ammonia leakages.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose refrigeration equipment problems on a daily basis and isolate possible malfunction causes. * Troubleshoots refrigeration equipment problems by performing electronic, electrical, or mechanical maintenance and repair. * Perform “daily duties” involving, but not limited to, the following equipment: chiller, spiral freezer, ice machine.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Skill Levels and Work Experience** * Minimum of 2 years general industrial maintenance experience in food manufacturing industry required, preferably poultry industry experience * Must be able to comprehend, speak, read, write, English fluently * Must be able to work any day including Saturday or Sunday if needed; Ability to work 12 hour shifts/7 days on, 7 days off * Basic computer skills required * Knowledge of poultry refrigeration machinery strongly desired including compressors, chillers, ice machines, condensers, evaporative coilers, etc. * Experience in evacuating ammonia in closed loop systems. (pump down) a strong plus * Ammonia/Refrigeration skills a strong plus * Experience using CMMS a plus * HVAC or CFC experience a plus * Knowledge in Process Safety Management program **Preferred Skill Levels and Work Experience** * Must be physically fit enough to be on the HAZMAT entry team. No beards allowed due to having to wear a SBA (self breathing apparatus). * Occasionally lifts up to 100 lbs. * Frequently and constantly walks (including stooping, kneeling, crawling, and climbing steps and ladders) throughout the facility including over 150,000 square feet. * Frequently uses visual skills to inspect equipment, machinery, and facilities. * Constantly subject to extremely wet and cold environments as well as extremely wet and hot environments. * Frequently talks and receives auditory information. * Frequently uses fine finger and hand manipulation skills.
