Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving key sales objectives by identifying and closing sales with new and existing customers.
Responsibilities
* Aggressively seek new opportunities to expand the company’s products with both existing customers and new customers * Actively identify new customers and key decision makers * Present entire product line for all retail/distribution and wholesale departments e.g. produce, grocery, deli, health foods, etc., to determine customer needs and best fit of product * Suggest and implement proactive strategies to achieve sales goals and target accounts within market * Participate in trade shows to introduce new and seasonal products, expand penetration of current products and obtain new accounts through use of show promotions * Manage assigned broker network to maximize sales * Ensure assigned brokers receive updated and timely information about products and policies * Seek distributor relationships, where necessary, to sell product in selected geographic locations or to assist in penetrating targeted accounts * Keep abreast of competitor information and products, customer policy changes, and market trends * Prepare plan-o-grams and oversee sets or re-sets to keep retail customers stocked and rotated with fresh product * Exercise discretion and confidentiality in all dealings and negotiations involving sensitive company information * Effectively manage difficult customer situations
Ideal Candidate
* 5 years sales experience in the snack food industry with proven record of delivering significant sales growth * Prior food broker management experience a must * Must be proactive with a high sense of urgency * Strong negotiation skills * Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to travel overnight up to 50% * Bachelors Degree (preferred in sales and marketing) * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
