Summary
Our team’s primary goal is to provide fans with an engaging artist experience. The Interactive Web Designer is part of the team responsible for UX, design, product development, and content strategy across digital platforms. The Interactive Web Designer will work with label creative to produce artist websites, digital properties, and online marketing materials. We seek a creative, conceptual thinker with a passion for music who can work collaboratively with our team and other departments. The Interactive Web Designer will have the opportunity to work with a variety of artists spanning diverse genres. Knowledge of current design and tech trends is a necessity. This is a full-time, freelance, on-site position with no specific end date. There’s a real opportunity to shape the way fans engage with artists and music online, beyond following them on Twitter and Facebook. This is a great role for a recent graduate or someone with 2+ years web design experience. This is a WEB DESIGNER role, NOT UX/UI. The right person for the job will bring a point of view and an open mind to every discussion. They’ll advocate for the fan, and develop practical solutions that take into account business goals, timelines, and available resources. Most importantly, they are seen as a collaborator and problem solver who is calm under pressure. This will be a paid internship in which the person will work in our New York office with the Consumer Sales and Marketing Team.
Responsibilities
* A day in the life of the Interactive Web Designer at WMG is all about making sure our web properties are effective and aligned with our artists’ brands. This can mean any of the following: * Collaborate with label creative and UX to produce modern, responsive websites for some of the most famous artists in the world * Translate high level strategy and conceptual sketches into annotated wireframes * Design a contest to acquire new fans * Run a hallway usability test to settle a disagreement about two different layouts * Balance business goals with usability to solve business problems * Apply a strong sense of usability and quick prototyping skills to create the best user experience * Work closely with developers to ensure features match their requirements
Ideal Candidate
**Required Competencies/Skills:** * Communicates clearly, early and often * Pays close attention to detail * Knowledge of current (and past) web trends, and good judgment of when to apply them * Familiarity with agile development processes * Fan of music **Experience/Knowledge Required:** * 2+ years interactive web design experience, with a related degree * Strong portfolio featuring designs, wireframes and prototyping samples * Bachelor's Degree preferred
