Delivery Driver

The Driver is responsible for the efficient transportation of product/material to customers in a manner and condition that meets customer and company requirements. Also responsible for the timely reporting of overages, shortages, damages and delays.
This part-time role will be approximately 30 hours each week.
- Transports and delivers goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by the customer.
- Unloads or assists in unloading packages/materials as required. Properly secures loads and ensures loads are within weight limits.
- Verifies count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded. Makes reports of overages, shortages and breakage/damage as needed.
- Operates the delivery van/truck in a safe manner.
- Reports any vehicle problems and defects to management.
- Complies with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and other standards and regulations.
- Maintains a good driving record.
- Ensures good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner.
Experience & Skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills; display a professional can-do attitude
- High regard for safety, quality, and site/customer protocols, policies and procedures
- Must be flexible, motivated, and have the ability to act independently
- Must be able to safely lift 50lbs minimum
- Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years applicable experience required
- Valid driver’s license
Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
- Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
- Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
- A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
- Work requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 50 lbs
