Delivery Driver

VWR (NASDAQ: VWR), headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania, is the leading, global, independent provider of products, services and solutions to laboratory and production facilities.

The Driver is responsible for the efficient transportation of product/material to customers in a manner and condition that meets customer and company requirements. Also responsible for the timely reporting of overages, shortages, damages and delays.

This part-time role will be approximately 30 hours each week.

• Transports and delivers goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by the customer.
• Unloads or assists in unloading packages/materials as required. Properly secures loads and ensures loads are within weight limits.
• Verifies count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded. Makes reports of overages, shortages and breakage/damage as needed.
• Operates the delivery van/truck in a safe manner.
• Reports any vehicle problems and defects to management.
• Complies with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and other standards and regulations.
• Maintains a good driving record.
• Ensures good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner.

• High regard for safety, quality, and site/customer protocols, policies and procedures
• Must be flexible, motivated, and have the ability to act independently
• Must be able to safely lift 50lbs minimum
• Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-3 years applicable experience required
• Valid driver’s license

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

• Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
• Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
• A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
• Work requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 50 lbs
