About VSA Partners
VSA Partners is a design-driven branding and marketing company. What do we mean by “design-driven?” VSA was founded as a design firm more than 30 years ago with the belief that design is not only a craft, but a tool for achieving business objectives. As design thinkers, we approach business challenges holistically and aim to break down silos between branding, digital, marketing and advertising.
Summary
Our Talent Acquisition Team (TaT) is on the front lines of enticing, engaging, and welcoming new talent. We partner closely with one another, as well as with other VSAers, to make sure we hire current and potential leaders who are passionate about their crafts and career paths. Our Talent Acquisition intern knows that being labeled “OCD” is a compliment because it’s often the small things that can make or break an experience. He/she will help us provide a high quality experience to both colleagues and candidates, through masterful coordination of all the steps along the way to ensuring a great hire. And, he/she will help TaT keep its own train on the tracks in terms of our internal TaT initiatives. Our intern will learn the ins-and-outs of the recruitment process, including nuances in the screening process, and will get a taste of the strategic, longer-term work that is the full realm of Talent Acquisition.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate candidate interviews, ensuring a positive experience for candidates and VSAers and making sure both parties are well prepared for their meetings. * Support TaT in maintaining the integrity of the data in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) called iCIMS. * Coordinate job postings. * Coordinate TaT meetings. * Facilitate Day One onboarding of New Hires in our NYC office. * Learn to source candidates for a variety of practice areas. * Research unique and alternate recruiting methods and sources for candidates. * Help us seed strong, ongoing relationships with candidates in order to fill the pipeline for future openings. * Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* A graduating senior, preferably in humanities or social sciences. * Detail-oriented. And, we mean, DETAIL-oriented. * A strong communicator, who interacts well with all levels in a pleasant and professional manner. * An eternal optimist with a “can do” attitude that makes you fun to have around. * A voracious and quick learner. * Discreet and tactful because you understand that “loose lips sink ships” and much of what we do is highly confidential. * A speed junkie, who knows when to slow down a bit to make sure things are done right (“Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast” - Phil Dunphy). * Good at managing your own time, and you can work independently (don’t need a task master to make sure you get stuff done.) * Not afraid of a bit of pressure, and you know how to pivot when changes happen. * An opportunity seeker, and you like the challenge of working in ambiguous environments. * Proficient in Google platform and apps.
