Summary
We are seeking a dynamic health care executive to serve as Chief External Affairs Officer and Vice President of Business Development. This position reports directly to the President and CEO and is a highly visible position with the organization’s board of directors and leaders of partnering organizations. This position oversees the business development, clinical liaison, patient access services, public relations, and marketing functions for the entire organization. Visible leadership position focused on continuously improving patient access and driving growth across all service lines. Works very closely as VNAHG’s representative with leaders of hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, physicians, and related organizations throughout the state. Works with Chief Executive Officer in developing and implementing strategic initiatives and new programs to maximize the agency’s business growth in the market as well as expanding the organization’s brand recognition.
Responsibilities
* Identifies, develops and implements new partnership and ventures to ensure the growth of the organization * Works with CEO and Executive team to evaluate mergers and acquisitions with home health, hospitals, insurers and other organizations to stay competitive in the market * Tracks the key industry trends for government and legislative issues and develops plans and recommendations to mitigate and manage these emerging risks * Manages insurance contracts, credentialing and negotiations as well as facilitates deal closure in collaboration with internal and external legal counsel * Develops and maintains external relationships with regulators, officials and key leadership in post-acute organizations, , hospitals, insurers and other organizations * Manages marketing programs/initiatives and development of collateral materials to increase the agency’s customer base and enhance the organization's public profile * Provides oversight of public relations & related initiatives * Drives the development of strategies for business development to support future growth of the agency and supervises all referral channels including business development, home care intake coordinators and access center * Provides oversight of case management program * Supervises a team of directors and managers in conjunction with the organization’s managerial and leadership practices
Ideal Candidate
* The ideal candidate is a vibrant and outgoing leader that is capable of serving as a positive spokesperson for the organization in a variety of settings, and is a steady and experienced operational leader with a track record of improving employee engagement, customer service, and accountability for results * Nurse / Clinician Leader with extensive business, business development, operational, and marketing experience OR a non-clinical business leader with deep and extensive background working at a high level with clinicians, clinical organizations, and has deep understanding of contemporary issues facing health service organizations * Experience and extensive knowledge in key subject areas such as home health, hospice, rehabilitation, gerontology, post-acute care, primary care, population health, and accountable care are essential * Merger and acquisition experience with strong negotiation, problem solving, territory management and managed care contracting skills * Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential customers and partners * Excellent communication skills with public speaking experience * Proven sales track record in a new product/new market environment
