Summary
Lead and manage a variety of projects in the Visa's Digital Wallet Group. As the Staff Performance Engineer, you will be developing and managing performance strategy for multiple Visa products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to functional requirements review, developing test strategy, guidance of test framework development. This role requires an acute sense of attention to detail and a flexible, team-player approach. Superior organization, written communication and verbal communication skills are required. Staff Performance Engineer will be a part of Visa's Digital Wallet architecture team will be reporting to Director of Architecture. Applications span a variety of business domains including, but not limited to, ecommerce, mobile technologies, risk analysis, security, offers, and a variety of web-based applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop system test cases, which simulate a production-based workload over extended periods of time. - Develop and review performance targets and test strategies to ensure coverage of product features. - Develop distributed workload generators for load, stress and scalability testing against clusters of multiple nodes. - Work with engineering professionals, architects and others within Visa to ensure that the solution will scale appropriately while ensuring that what is implemented is a cost effective solution.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science or other technology field; Typically requires 8+ years of experience in delivering enterprise-class, mission-critical, commercial, and scalable products - Ability to evaluate Performance test scripts/code and test results. - Experience with monitoring, profiling & diagnostics tools (i.e. Appdynamics, Dynatrace) - Experience with performance analysis tools (i.e. HTTPWatch, Firebug, Fiddler) - Experience in identifying and providing tuning recommendation for various infrastructure components: JVM, Application Servers, Database Servers, Web Servers. - Experience with web services standards and related technologies (HTTP, XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, WS*). - Extensive Experience working with a variety of Applications Servers and Databases (primarily Tomcat, Oracle)
