Responsibilities
The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff of the Medical Center, provides protection of property, and curtails criminal activity through visible deterrents.
Ideal Candidate
* High school diploma or equivalent required. * Basic certification through the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) required within three months of position entry. * Advanced certificaton required within six months of position entry. * Supervisor certification required within 12 months of position entry. * Also required are: excellent interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; crisis intervention skills; and ability to project a positive image for the Medical Center. * Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, and have a valid Washington State Driver's License with a five-year clean driving record, for auto liability coverage through Virginia Mason Medical Center.
