The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is responsible for assisting with external reporting (such as SEC Filings and debt covenant reporting), internal reporting (such as reporting to the Board of Directors and Senior Management), and the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures. The position will also assist with technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting pronouncements. The candidate for the Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting position must have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of the SEC filings, including the 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K / Earnings Release, conference call scripts and support of the Proxy statement and reviewing the accuracy of XBRL tags
- Attend and participate in all Disclosure Committee meetings
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly debt covenant reporting to debt holders
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting to Senior Management, the Board of Directors and the majority shareholder
- Assist in creating and maintaining company internal policies and procedures
- Assist in the research and interpretation of accounting guidance to determine accounting positions
- Assist in the interpretation, communication, documentation and implementation of new accounting and reporting standards
- Assist with the preparation of accounting entries and documentation for specialized accounting transactions, including stock-based compensation, impairment of goodwill and long-lived assets
- Support various internal controls activities and the implementation of Sarbanes - Oxley 404 compliance requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- 2-3 years of public accounting or 3-4 years relevant industry experience
- Strong understanding of SEC financial reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform critical analysis and thinking, prioritize and problem solve
- Ability to work under pressure and multi task with time sensitive constraints
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive individual who can work in a dynamic, fast-paced and evolving environment
- Work effectively within the department and across departments
- Desire to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
