Responsibilities
Logo is looking for an experienced results driven manager to serve as a creative lead and the voice of our digital properties. The Editorial Director will manage our blog presence including staff and freelance writers, provide direction for digital videos, and collaborate with the heads of Digital & Social to generate short-form and written online content that engages our audience and expands the reach of the brand. The Editorial Director should be tapped into social and digital media, with a keen sense of what will resonate with the LGBT audience. Logo Digital creates content around our shows, develops apps, launches cross-platform social contests, and otherwise works to be a meaningful brand in the social/mobile era. The Editorial Director will have a major voice in originating and developing ideas across all these projects. The position reports to the Senior Director of Digital for Logo and MTV2, and collaborates closely with Logo’s Director of Social. The position also works closely with Logo Production, Marketing, Integrated Marketing and all other departments at the channel. **Responsibilities Include:** - Lead and oversee online editorial strategy for Logo TV’s websites, apps and social platforms. - Work with production, digital and social teams to create impactful editorial content around Logo shows. - Lead the New Now Next editorial team in expanding coverage, reaching new readers, and driving traffic. - Lead Logo’s creation of short-form digital videos that express our editorial sensibility. - Stay on top of digital trends and develop new and innovative approaches to expanding the brand’s footprint across the web. - Work closely with the social media team on the creation and distribution of our content. - Work with the Sr. Director, Digital to develop a digital video strategy that encompasses original content and acquisitions.
Ideal Candidate
- 7+ years’ experience working in a dynamic, deadline- and results-oriented environment; - Demonstrated editorial management skills with both staff and freelancers - An established history of digital editorial success and familiarity with the social/mobile universe **Additional Qualifications** - Familiarity with the Logo brand - Broad knowledge-based across entertainment, news, health, travel and advice - Proven ability to handle multiple tasks under tight daily and weekly deadlines - Demonstrated success and audience growth at a large web site - Excellent editorial skills writing, and editing - Knowledge and experience with SEO best practices - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Significant contacts in the digital editorial community - Familiarity with creative development of video content - Familiarity with digital analytics and monetization models
