Responsibilities
* Looking for a mid-level front-end web developer to join UX Design team with strong experience in Data Visualization using web standards technologies. Preferably 3-6 years of front-end development experience. Should have decent knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript, but must have very strong knowledge and experience in custom data visualization (preferably using D3.js).
* Communication with UX Designers on the team for Website and Web Application interface requirements.
* Work on a wide range of project complexity: simple one page additions to Verizon.com to ground up large-scale application development.
* Learning, adhering to, and contributing to our in-house front-end framework (think Twitter Bootstrap or Zurb Foundation built specifically for Verizon).
* Coordinating efforts with offshore team members.
* Assisting back-end developers in integrating the front-end code developed by this team.
* Mentoring Junior team members and interns.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in front end UI development
* Expert in D3.js and Data Visualization and related use of JavaScript
* Ability to build a range of typical charts (bar, line, pie, etc.) as well as completely unique and interactive data visualizations with custom interactions and animations.
* Comfortable using jQuery.
* Knowledgeable in general front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
* Understanding of the technical aspects of Responsive Web Design (RWD)
Excellent verbal and written communication. We work with counterparts in India and need to be able to clearly “talk code” to our offshore team.
