• Responsible for the installation of Motorola/ARRIS equipment into server racks
• Responsible for the configuration and integration of equipment into new and existing video head ends including receivers, encoders, transcoders, multiplexers, Edge QAMS, Conditional Access System, Network Controllers, Switched Digital Video System
• Responsible for troubleshooting issues as related to the Motorola/ARRIS Conditional Access System
• Responsible for troubleshooting issues as related to the video distribution networks including RF
• Configuration of equipment in a multicast environment
• Develop and provide configuration documentation to customers
• Develop and contribute to internal documentation (Test Procedures, MOPs, Solution Descriptions)

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience within the Motorola/ARRIS CATV and/or satellite industries
• Associates Degree in engineering or computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
• Very strong customer interaction and interpersonal skills
• Very strong knowledge of IP networking and Internet technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, NTP)
• Very strong knowledge of DAC, RADD, APEX, OM, NC, DSR, CAP product line current releases
• Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot Motorola/ARRIS video headend equipment
• Strong skills in Linux command line
• Knowledge of Set Top Box management, ROVI Guide, ARRIS/SEACHANGE VOD Systems
• Knowledge of Cable Modem Termination Systems (BSR, C4, E6000)
• Solid understanding of RF Networks (Combining, Taps, Padding, Amplifiers, Nodes)
• Familiarity with fiber networks and HFC plant operations
• Familiarity with MPEG2/4 encapsulation
• Ability/willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time
• Ability/willingness to learn new equipment and technologies extremely quickly
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience in a video headend as a technician responsible for video distribution
• Experience making and running cabling (CAT5e/6, RG-59/6/11, Mini-RF, BNC, F)
• DAC6000 – Digital Addressable Controller Operations Certification
• Digital Headend Operation Certification
