We are looking for an experienced and energetic Release Program Manager. You will be directly responsible for driving release/sprint logistics and facilitating sprint execution in fast-paced development/release cycles for our multi-platform product, working closely with our cross-functional product teams co-located in our Pleasanton, CA office. Veeva CRM is the most widely used CRM application in the Pharmaceutical /Life Sciences industry and we strive to deliver customer success with each new release. This position requires a highly organized person who can balance detailed program management, resource management and analytic rigor to ensure on-time and quality SaaS application delivery for a high impact customer experience.
Responsibilities
* Drive the overall Veeva CRM software development program including the planning, schedule and delivery for major and patch releases across multiple platforms (i.e. online, Windows Modern and iOS/iPad/iPhone). Help drive definition of project requirements, plan, schedules and resource needs. * Demonstrate solid understanding of fiscal plan, business goals and objectives of program / product, and communicate clearly to the project teams. * Navigate teams through all phases of release cycle: identify, track, prioritize and drive resolution of project team/program issues, using risk mitigation to minimize disruption and impact. * As a hands-on project manager, host and drive regular Core Team meetings (i.e. release planning, program reviews, sprint planning and sprint/release retrospectives, etc., as needed), identifying external dependencies, and ensure key defined milestones, goals and commitments are achieved on-time and on-budget. * Hold accountability that all teams are meeting their committed deliverables. * Primary business owner for work task/issue management application (Jira). Develop requirements for configurations and workflows to optimize use. Document and ensure proper adherence to process guidelines and standards for using Jira. * Excellent communication skill at all levels of responsibility. Ensure that team communications are timely, informative, and accurate. * Collaborate with product managers, development and QA to anticipate and assertively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent work completion. * Effective continuous process improvement leader who uses a big picture view to ensure that processes scale appropriately within the organization and enable the teams to successfully and rapidly deliver quality products. * Derive and monitor Success Metrics for each release ensuring reporting and analysis are fed back in to the release process improvement cycle. * Requirements:
Ideal Candidate
* BS in science, engineering, or equivalent degree. * 5+ years of experience owning multi-team Program Management within a software development team. * Strong understanding of software engineering practices. * Excellent balance of people, organizational, facilitation, technical and communication skills. * Knowledge of program/project management best practices (i.e. well understood patterns and techniques) and their practical use based on situational dynamics. * Ability and flexibility to work at both the Program and Project level. * Fluid ability to traverse both vertically and horizontally in a large organization. * Proven leadership skills in a changing cross-functional and cross-organizational environments. * Ability to set/manage release milestones/schedules, identify risks and clearly communicate goals to stakeholders. * Experienced in use and configuration of one or more program/project management tools (i.e. Jira Agile, VersionOne, Rally, Mingle). **Nice to Have:** * Experience working on SaaS enterprise applications preferred. * Experience with salesforce.com and force.com platform. * Program/Project Management certification.
