UTAS Global MRO Innovation and Technology Manager

UTC Aerospace Systems is one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products.

This position provides leadership for a cross-functional team who will produce new and creative features, products and processes for UTAS Global Repair Network. This individual should be a visionary and energetic with the ability to use technology to produce disruptive products and features in the MRO industry and will be responsible for leading high-visibility strategic projects as well as small discovery initiatives in emerging technology. The role will create and deliver recommendations, business cases and presentations to provide solid decision making tools for management. This position will be often tested to reach stretch goals on difficult initiatives and will be tasked with discovering, researching and implementing forward thinking ideas that differentiate UTAS MRO from other leading MRO organizations.

* Drive evaluation and implementation of innovation initiatives, pilots, and programs. * Establish systems and processes to identify, evaluate and prioritize innovation opportunities to focus resources on development of differentiated services and processes. * Create and manage processes to ensure innovations and pilots are scalable in a production environment. * Effectively collaborate and work with cross-functional teams from across the UTAS Repair Network * Perform rapid experimentation and testing that lead to new products/processes * Champion a culture of innovation within the UTAS Repair Network, promoting innovation as a core responsibility of every employee regardless of function. * Provide research and information to stakeholders to support decisions across the entire UTAS Repair Network * Manage and coordinate the entire life cycle of a project * Collaborate with industry leaders, startups and partnering MROs to enhancing innovation access and provide insight into key technology and new market opportunities. * Implement a standard of best practices across projects and expected deliverables * Work closely with the current IT development teams to ensure we maintain a consistent systems architecture model across UTAS.

* Experience with agile/lean software development concepts, tools and methodologies * Applicable knowledge of design-thinking a plus * Experience leading complex initiatives working with multiple business units * Knowledge of UTAS financial or MRO products and services a plus. * Strong analytical skills using data to support strategic decisions * Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all areas of the business * Proven strategic leadership skills managing a cross-functional team * Skilled in project methodologies and operational execution while maintaining a sense of urgency and entrepreneurial mindset * Ability to function independently and display proactive initiative. * Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. * Able to foster a team environment to create collaborative and positive relationships * Ability to fail fast, learn and move on to the next challenge * Proven experience working with strategy, technology and the MRO services industry * Experience developing, delivering and maintaining high quality, secure software applications * Experience utilizing non-traditional project management methodologies to progress from ideation-to pilot-to-production * Operations knowledge required * Start-up experience a plus * Bachelor's degree or MBA
