Senior Project Manager

UTC Aerospace Systems is one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products.

We are looking for a project/program manager with experience in leading aerospace and defense industry related product development projects. This position will work closely with the design engineering team to plan, execute, measure, and monitor all aspects of new product introduction and/or fielded product engineering design projects.

The position requires strong interpersonal skills, a high degree of comfort with ambiguity, rigorous project discipline, ability to organize tasks for efficient execution, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Interaction with customers and suppliers is routinely required. The successful applicant must be willing to work beyond core hours, and weekends (when required); and occasionally travel within and outside the United States to support project activities. This position will lead the IPDT project teams therefore leadership skills are required.

* Planning, executing, controlling, and monitoring project activities to ensure project objectives are met through disciplined use of UPI process and tools. Position is accountable for overall project execution including cost, schedule, satisfying project requirements, and external customer satisfaction. * Leading Integrated Product Development Teams and coordinating cross-functional activities as required. * Facilitating all internal and external project reviews. * Acting as the Engineering focal for customer engagements including periodic status teleconferences, design reviews, and project status reviews. * Supporting proposal development efforts by estimating project related tasks for new business opportunities. * Participating and/or leading continuous improvement activities/teams. * Reporting project metrics to Engineering Management and other business leaders as required. * Coordinating with the UTAS Program Management, Business Development, and Hurricane Mesa Test Facility, and Engineering Management teams as required.
