Summary

We’re looking for a Product Marketing Director to lead our outbound marketing efforts aimed at senior marketing and customer experience executives about our new Mobile Recorder product. Each time a customer interacts with a product, there is valuable information that can be gathered to make products better, make packaging more attractive, enhance the shopping experience, and more. With our Mobile Recorder, we make it easy to capture this data anytime, anywhere. Your job is get this message out there to the brand and marketing executives that are hungry for this information.
As you'd expect in a startup, this is a hybrid role that combines leadership and hands-on execution. You’ll influence and leverage the other members of the marketing team, as well as our execs, but you'll also get your hands dirty directly executing on the plans you make.

This is a cross-functional role in which you'll report to our VP Marketing, with a dotted line to our VP Mobile.

Responsibilities
  • Define messages, create content, build alliances, and create and lead marketing programs targeting the consumer market and work with the rest of our marketing team to execute those programs
  • Identify the needs of consumer experience market and the messages that will be compelling to them
  • Work closely with our mobile product managers to plan announcements and create content that accurately reflects the benefits of our products
  • Identify the analysts and other influencers who matter, and win them over
  • Identify conferences, meet-ups and other relevant industry meetings, and drive our participation there
  • Create marketing content and programs that drive leads for our sales team
  • Create go-to-market and launch plans for new products
  • Create collateral and presentations to support direct sales, and participate in customer calls as appropriate
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or similar; and/or related work experience
  • 3+ years product marketing experience with a deep knowledge of consumer marketing and brand management organizations; You’ve lived this world, understand how it works, and are passionate about making it better
  • Hands-on experience defining, implementing, and leading marketing programs aimed at marketing and customer experience executives, examples include retail customers, B2C, e-commerce.
  • Experience developing and growing a marketing segment
  • Strong background in MarComm and experience influencing industry analysts and commentators (ranging from major analyst firms and websites to independent influencers)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, and people who have varying skill levels
  • Proven ability to mentor and partner with team members who are early in their careers
  • Proven ability to do great work with small budgets in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a startup or other entrepreneurial environment that requires a mix of leadership and hands-on implementation
  • A passion for this role, and for market research, user experience and understanding the real lives of customers; We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about the market and helping people in it
  • Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Bonus points for mobile and/or international experience
