Director of Communications and Outreach

(San Francisco, California)The Director provides vision, strategy, coordination, and assessment of all communications and outreach products and initiatives for SOE enrollment and visibility, in consultation with the Office of the Dean.
Manage the Office of Communications and Outreach.
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, including student workers.
- Coordinate additional staff support for events and initiatives, as needed.
- Plan and oversee the office budget.
Serve as SOE liaison to relevant University offices, initiatives, and committees.
- Liaison with the Offices of Alumni Relations, Communications and Marketing, and Development to increase visibility of SOE programs and personnel in University communications and outreach.
General Communications
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, integrated communications and marketing strategy using web, video, social media, email, and print media.
- Oversee content, design and analysis of the SOE website.
- Lead the implementation of strategies to leverage social media outlets, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
- Advise and assist SOE administrators, faculty, and staff to more effectively implement marketing, communications, admission and recruitment efforts.
Recruitment and Admission of Prospective Students
- Understand about all SOE programs and respective application and admission requirements.
- Oversee contact and communications for prospective students through one on one counseling and public events (including graduate school fairs, conferences, etc.).
- Oversee recruitment events, including open houses, yield events, informational sessions, and relevant School of Education events.
- Oversee recruitment and admissions publications, included but not limited to graduate program brochures, marketing collateral, invitations, postcard announcements, and event signage.
- Track market trends and application and enrollment data.
- Oversee admission operations and application processing.
Other duties, as specified by the Office of the Dean.

Graduate degree in higher education, communications, marketing, or relevant experience.

At least 5 years of progressively increasing experience in a higher education or relevant setting in areas of communications, outreach, project management, budget management, and marketing.

Preferred qualifications include demonstrated effectiveness in staff supervision and in working collaboratively with various constituency groups.
