Summary
The department is seeking an outstanding individual to be the core of a developing Global Health concentration of the MPH Program.
Responsibilities
* The successful candidate will be expected to have a track record as an excellent teacher, with the capability of developing and teaching a concentration required course of Introduction to Global Health and another selective course for the same concentration. * Teaching may also include epidemiology and infectious disease courses; and serving as director for the MPH practicum course. * In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to advise MPH students and serve as a chair or a member in their thesis/capstone project/grant application committees, and be actively involved in curricular development, MPH Program reaccreditation and other departmental service functions. * Interdisciplinary collaborative research and the establishment of grant-funded projects are strongly encouraged. * A strong refereed publication record is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
* PhD (or equivalent advanced degree) in public health or a closely related field. * Evidence of effective undergraduate/graduate teaching. * Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues and students. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Expertise in an area of epidemiology or global health or combined. * Effective interpersonal & communication skills.
