Summary
The Tram Assembler is responsible for the assembly and installation of Tram components, systems, and sub-systems including but not limited drive train, electrical, running gear, hydraulic/pneumatics, and body equipment. In addition, this individual accountable to Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. They will also be required to work and maintain manufacturing quality, use inspection tools, and various hand tooling. Must be capable to work with minimal supervision and use good judgment; will be required on occasion to use decision making skills. This individual must be capable of communicating effectively with their superiors, outside vendors, and other internal employees in order to provide them with accurate and timely information with the necessary details.
Responsibilities
* Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. * Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. * Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. * Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. * Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. * Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. * Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. * Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. * Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. * Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. * Assembles parts at assigned work stations on moving assembly line, performing any combination of following repetitive tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and production fixtures: Loads stamped metal body components into automated welding equipment that welds together components to form body subassemblies. * Positions and fastens together body subassemblies, such as side frames, underbodies, doors, hoods, and trunk lids, to assemble vehicle bodies and truck cabs preparatory to body welding process. * Bolts, screws, clips, or otherwise fastens together parts to form subassemblies, such as doors, seats, instrument control panels, steering columns, and axle units. * Installs mechanical and electrical components and systems, such as engine, transmission, and axle units; pumps; wire harnesses; instrument control panels; and exhaust, brake, and air-conditioning systems. * Fits and adjusts doors, hoods, and trunk lids. * Seals joints and seams, using caulking gun. * Fastens seats, door paneling, headliners, carpeting, molding, and other trim into position. * Fills vehicle systems with brake and transmission fluids, engine coolant, and oil. * May apply precut and adhesive coated vinyl tops and pads to vehicle roofs. * May verify quality of own work and write description of defects observed on documents attached to vehicle bodies. * May enter and retrieve production data, using computer terminals. * May work as member of assembly group and be assigned different work stations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor * May participate in group meetings to exchange job related information. * May be designated according to component assembled or installed as Assembler, Engine; Assembler, Seat; or stage of assembly as Assembler, Body; Assembler, Chassis; Assembler, Final; Assembler, Trim.

* Ability & willingness to work a variety of schedules, overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice * Ability and willingness to respond to incidents in locations requiring climbing, fall-protection, and other non-traditional work-environments. * Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written on a technical level * Must have the ability to motivate employees and work independently and as part of a team. * Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects up to 50lbs. * Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, etc. for extended periods of time **Working Conditions** * Exposure to extreme temperatures relative to the various systems * Exposure to weather, noise, and hazardous materials * Required to work in confined spaces * Required to work at heights **Physical Requirements** * The job duties require an employee to move heavy objects. * The job duties require an employee to traverse rough terrain. * Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects up to 50lbs. * Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, etc. for extended periods of time
