Senior Product Manager

The Unitrends senior product manager is the voice of the customer. The senior product manager manages the product through the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing buyer, customer, and channel partner requirements, assessing the current and future competitive landscape, and ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support Unitrends’ overall strategy and goals. The person in this role must be the primary expert in the company with regard to our direct and indirect competitors.

* Lead the ideation and launch of innovative products * Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution * Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products * Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm * Work closely with sales, marketing, customers and technology partners to deeply understand, document, analyze and synthesize customer needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications. * Coordinate with local Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to perform Agile Product Owner role * Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services. * Provide technical and sales guidance for key accounts and field teams * Subject Matter Expert for our served market and channels. * Lead the roadmap process for your elements of product portfolio. * Communicate with customers and all areas of the company. * Represent the company at trade shows, and alongside sales at customer visits. * Guide marketing to ensure release communication, web site updates, PR, and lead generation activities have solid product positioning and information. * Be viewed as an internal and external evangelist for your product interacting with all your constituent teams.

* Passion for building and shipping great products * 5-7 years of product management in building and shipping enterprise software that delight customers * 3-5 years of software development (programming) experience is a plus * Experience with Storage, Virtualization, Replication, Backup and/or Disaster Recovery is a plus. * 3+ years of proven experience in cloud computing software stack along with experience with public and hybrid cloud providers is a plus * Experience with IT customers spanning Enterprise, Mid-market and SMB. * Highly effective communicator, superb listening skills * Empathy for customer feedback, while understanding the importance of a long-term product vision * Ability to sell an idea; an entrepreneurial spirit * Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities. * Ability to synthesize a large amount of information and make it easily understandable. * Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally * BA/BS preferred in computer engineering/science or related technical field. (MBA is a plus)
