While traditional, radar-enabled weather centers collect data by analyzing conditions observed in the atmosphere, Understory’s ground-truth-based detection is a marked enhancement in both resolution and fidelity.

Summary

Understory generates real-time, localized, atmospheric data, powered by its dense grids of proprietary weather stations and is looking for a hybrid Product and Marketing Specialist to join the Product and Software team. This is a unique role that’s part product marketer, content creator, growth analyst, product designer, and product manager. The right person for this role loves to get things done and work in a collaborative and dynamic team. You're a fit for this role if you have strong skills in a couple of areas coupled with the ability and motivation to learn quickly.

Your peers will be a multidisciplinary and diverse team building hardware, performing data analytics, developing cloud platforms, and releasing disruptive products. In this role, you will be an effective part of a fast-paced team and work with cutting edge data and technology.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor app and website traffic and usage patterns; communicate insights to the VP of Product and Software team
  • Identify areas for retention and growth
  • Create and post content for our blog, social media accounts, and Youtube channel
  • Create and release white papers; create and host webinars; identify and schedule guest speakers
  • Create, monitor, and adjust Google Adwords, Facebook ad, or other paid campaigns
  • Assist in designing new products and interfaces; creating prototypes
  • Assist in designing user experience and usability studies
  • Contribute to product success and product strategy
  • Work within a team to define product positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation
Ideal Candidate
  • 3 or more years of experience with marketing or product management
  • Ability to thrive in multiple roles inside Understory, overlapping with product, marketing, and sales
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong relationships
  • Strategic thinker and planner
  • Creative, resourceful, organized, and detail oriented
